| Hi, My name is Niran, it
is a Thai name that means 'eternal'.....my
country of origin is Thailand where we
are regarded as "good luck" or
"si-sawat" cats. We are a very
old breed with a documented history going
back to at least the 14th century. All of
us registered, pedigreed Korats can trace
their lineage back to Thailand. It is
considered good luck to give two Korats
as a wedding gift to humans. I come from
a long line of champions and am treated
like royalty, which of course is expected....
I have a silvery blue coat. I came to
live with my new family just recently and
am settling in very nicely, they are
trying to spoil me, but only if I allow
it, as I am a Korat and I make the final
decisions around here....I am very
affectionate and love to play with my
toys... I have a loud raspy, 'Korat'
voice which gets my family to pay
attention to me immediately! I choose to
sleep right on my new person, she is my
mommy now and is very nice to me... There
are many windows in my new home so I can
look out at the blue jays and cardinals...
If you are ever lucky enough to meet a
Korat, you won't find a more suitable and
loyal friend.
