| Amber arrived on the
doorstep at the beginning of May 2003 in
a battered pet carry-box. My cousin
brought her and said, I've got you a
present and handed me the box. I
carefully looked inside and saw there was
a small bundle of ginger and white fur
and being a major cat fanatic, I couldn't
say no. My other furbabies were less than
impressed at this newbie to the household
and Amber was equally unimpressed with
them too! She has the most amazing
coloured amber eyes, which is why I named
her Amber, she was previously called
Gizmo. Amber had been kept in a
conservatory and never let out since she
was a small kitten, so she hadn't had any
previous interaction with other cats, in
fact I'm sure she thought she was the
only one in the world. The people who
previously owned her were going to take
her and have her put to sleep because
they were getting a new leather sofa and
a bird!!! ????? That's when my cousin
intervened and brought her to me. Now
she's happily settled in and part of the
Kitty Clan.
She has the most amazing range of
facial expressions, 2 of my favourites
are: sucking a lemon ~ meaning she's not
a happy camper and Megafatchops ~ meaning
she's a mega happy camper! Ambers meow is
very funny too, it sounds like she's
saying, 'me, me, me, me, me!' which being
the attention seeker that she is, is
absolutely perfect. She also has a
fascination for the bathroom sink, I
think she thinks it's a small bath for
cats! Her favourite things are her small
toy mice which she carries around the
house and two Polar Bear teddies which
she sleeps with on the foot of my bed.
She is also a raving catnip fiend and
loves to be brushed, the more attention
the better. Her best friend is one of my
other cats, Humphrey, they adore one
another and play together for hours,
their favourite game is hide and seek but
the really noisy version.
Amber is a very little special cat and
there is no doubt in my mind that she was
meant to be with me, just as the rest of
the super special Kitty Clan who found
their way to me and a loving pampered
home for life.
